Exit12 Dance Company’s Diversity, Justice, Equity, and Inclusion Policy

Exit12 proactively champions individuals and groups that have been victims of prejudice, inequality, injustice and exclusion through our creative endeavors, hiring practices, programs, and initiatives.

Exit12’s work is about the individuals who serve in the military, their families and loved ones. In order to tell these stories, Exit12 is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion to present and champion voices that cover a breadth of experience, particularly the voices that have been historically excluded. These perspectives and experiences are, but not limited to, differences across socio-economic class, ethnicity, race, nationality, physical ability, mental health, sexuality, age, parental status, and religion. Our work requires an environment that supports creativity and the creation of art, and it is vital that those within the organization and our collaborators feel safe, welcomed, and supported.

In all its interactions and projects, Exit12 aims to give voice to groups that often do not have an outlet to address oppression, violence, trauma, prejudice, and misunderstanding. Doing so we are committed to diversity, justice, inclusion, and equity with every project, every hiring decision, and every event.  We welcome feedback on how we can improve.
